Hi there, I’m Lauren!
So lovely that you want to get to know me!
“How would the people that you love the most, describe you?”
If you’ve listened to A Happy, Positive Life podcast before, you would have heard me ask the question above as my ‘signature icebreaker question’!…
So my answer is:
Bubbly, chatty and playful.
But my titles are: Mum, Wife and Podcaster.
I decided to start this podcast as a way to address some of the struggles I first encountered when I became a mother to help others who may be struggling too. Every episode of A Happy, Positive Life is heavily researched on the issues that affect young mothers and features interviews with inspiring women and leaders in their fields.
I help mums rediscover themselves and their passions outside of motherhood.

Who I am today is a mum of three boys, Cooper, Noah, and Brodie, wife to Dylan, and creator and host of A Happy, Positive Life.
I absolutely adore being a mum and creating A Happy, Positive Life has been my love and my passion outside of motherhood.
But it took a journey to get me to this place.
I’ll be honest, becoming a mum totally rocked me. I’m not sure I was ready for how much my life was about to change…
‘Self-care’ is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left.
“When a woman gives birth to a baby she also gives birth to herself”
When I had my first son, I really struggled with breastfeeding and was living on exactly, no sleep. I was listening to everyone’s conflicting advice before trusting myself and I was so focused on keeping my new baby healthy and happy that I’d completely forgotten about myself.
The lack of self care started to take it’s toll within few weeks. I was exhausted, depleted and my breastmilk supply started to decrease. My baby was constantly fussy and hungry and I couldn’t seem to soothe him.
I frantically called a breastfeeding helpline. The consultant asked me if I had been looking after myself and eating right. ‘No, I guess not’ I replied.
It honestly didn’t even occur to me to look after myself!
‘You can’t run a car on empty, love!’ she told me, ‘looking after yourself is not just important for you, but for everyone around you!’
This is the first time I realised how impactful the way I cared and treated myself was to others around me.
Fast forward a few years…
Now I’ve got three beautiful sons, I’m feeling more in control and secure in my parenting role. On one hand, I can’t believe how lucky I am, but on the other, I wanted something more.
I just felt like something was missing, like my whole identity was wrapped up in being a mum, I didn’t know who I was outside of that.
I began to change things around me. I improved my environment by decluttering my home. I removed everything I didn’t need, use or love and created space. I couldn’t believe the freeing feeling that came from clearing my surroundings. I felt like I could breathe again!
I found that by decluttering my space, I was able to declutter my mind. My anxiety levels decreased and I had more time for myself. I researched more and more about how our environments can affect us and the benefits of living simply with less stuff.
Now I share everything I’ve learned about decluttering and living with less in my course Declutter Your Life. This course is designed to take you from feeling overwhelmed to calm and in control in your environment.
